Keeping the “American whiskey” postings going now for three days straight:
Delilah’s “15”, 15 year old rye whiskey, 50%, $150
Well matured, but still with a spicy rye mean streak. And there’s this lush sweetness that tames both the resinous oak and the bold rye spice. A harmonious balance between the three, actually. Warming cinnamon and cool mint meld with sweet corn, rhum agricole, honey-kissed citrus, pecan pie and cocoa powder, leading to a long, dry, spicy, leather-tinged finish. Bottled to celebrate the 15th Anniversary of Delilah’s bar in Chicago. A worthy effort!
Advanced Malt Advocate magazine rating: 90

Is there anywhere to get this other than at the bar?
Any idea who made this stuff?
Sounds like a great rye. I’ll echo the above comment. Is Delilah’s releasing any of this stuff for sale?
I know it is still for sale at Delilah’s. I’m not sure about anywhere else. I suggest you call them for more details: 773-472-2771.
Love Delilah’s, but haven’t yet had this particular bottle there; good to know its worth a try. I’ve really enjoyed their other anniversary bottlings (eg, 13th anniversary Highland Park 2nd fill sherry 13 y/o); the owner (Mike) is right on point with his barrels, and a great guy with whom to talk whisky.
